Monmouth Players will be holding auditions for Luigi Creatore's "Flamingo Court" on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. Auditions will be held at the theater located in the Navesink Library , Monmouth and Sears avenues, North Middletown.

This three part "slice of life" takes place in three different condos and has
audiences laughing at the truth they see in what might be their own neighbors –
only zanier. The action takes place in a three-story apartment complex in South
Florida. Needed are ten characters, aged 40 to 89, five men and five women.

Flamingo Court is a three part “slice of life” that takes place in three different condos in Florida. There are ten different characters, which can be played by from 5 to 10 actors. The minimum is 2 women and 3 men ages 40s through 70s.

Character List:

Part 1: Angelina, in 104 is a Neil-Simonesque three character piece that starts with
smiles and grows into a hilarious, audience-howling ending.Angelina: Italian,
caring, moved a year ago from Brooklyn.

Marie: A matchmaker, nosey, abrupt, a trouble maker, says what she thinks, her
neighbor and best friend.

Dominic: Italian, Sensitive, gullible, a man of honor, Romantic.

Part 2: Clara, in 204 deals with two characters in a poignant look at the problems of
aging and separation.

Clara: Gentle, firm, opinionated; she has early stage dementia.

Arthur: Her husband, to the point, knows what he wants.

Part 3: Harry, in 304 is a five character play, and the wackiest – it deals with an 89
year old gentleman who is battling his greedy daughter at the same time he gets
involved with a "mature hooker."

Harry Rossoff: celebrating his 89th birthday. Determined, feisty, crusty
character.

Mark Seagal: Hearing-aid salesman; Polite, honest, intelligent.

Charity Piprick: Harry's daughter, pushy, overbearing, controlling.

Walter Piprick: Charity's husband. Lawyer, completely dominated by his wife.

Chi-Chi: A hooker
